WeTransfer system guidelines

On your internet browser go to the WeTransfer website https://wetransfer.com  and you can upload your photos from there, single or all together, and without having to reduce the file size. It’s a great system to use for sending photos at any time, and up to 2GB is free (which is a lot of photos!). Only send Jpeg’s, and not RAW , PDF or TIFF Files. It’s free! Ignore all advertisements.  It is not necessary to download an app.

 

On a computer or laptop

  1. When you go into the link https://wetransfer.com , you will see a notice on the right on side which you need to agree to – you are looking for the free version.
  2. Then go to left side and tap on the plus in the blue circle to ‘add files’  (photo) which will bring you into your folders and you can browse to find your photo wherever you have stored it, try to rename your file with the photo title, (do not use your name) select your photo, then click ‘open’.
    If you are unable to change the name of file please give lots of details at stage 6) below.
  3.  You can add additional photos to this transfer by going back to the blue circle with the plus and  repeat the process for your other photos with ‘add more files’ (this is back in the WeTransfer page).
  4. Then just click ’email to’ and infill photo.comp.fgc@gmail.com
  5. In the box underneath that you just add in your own email.
  6. Under ‘Message’ add in following essential information
    1. Title of each photo
    2. How many photos you think you have sent us
    3. What Category you are entering into New, Previous Entry, or Previous winner
    4. Your name
    5. contact telephone number.
  7. Finally just click ‘Transfer’ and that’s it. They will come through to us and you will get a confirmation email from WeTransfer confirming they have gone through. Later you will get another email from WeTransfer  to say we have downloaded the photos.

 

From iPad / iPhone

  1. In Safari go into the link https://wetransfer.com , you will see a notice on the right on side which you need to agree to. – free version
  2. Then go to left side and tap on the plus in the blue circle to ‘add files’  (photo) which will bring up tab with options to find your photos, if the photo is in your photo library search there by selecting that option. To search all by date order go into Moments and find date – (An easier option would be to make your selected photo a favourite by putting a heart on them and they will then be in your favourite album). Select the photo by ticking the blank circle and a blue tick will appear, then tap done.  This photo will now appear in the WeTransfer.  You are not able to name the file so it is essential that you fill in the Message area on WeTransfer with name of photo. You can add additional photos to this transfer by going back to the blue circle with the plus and  repeat the process for your other photos with ‘add more files’ (this is back in the WeTransfer page).
  3. Then just click ’email to’ and infill photo.comp.fgc@gmail.com
  4. In the box underneath that you just add in your own email.

Printed photos:  Please remember to bring your printed out photos with you to the Club meeting on 27th November.   Each photo should have the title, place or garden where photo was taken and the group you are entering on the back of the photo.  Put your printed photos in an envelope with your name and group on the outside of the envelope.  Your name should NOT be on the photos.

PLEASE DO NOT PANIC!  It looks like a lot of instructions, but in reality it is very easy and will only take you a few minutes, once you have your photos selected.  Many people on the main committee will be happy to help you to use WeTransfer so if you don’t have someone to help you please contact Lucille before Tuesday 20th November.
