Before we put the garden to bed in late autumn, we had planted a lot of bulbs and corms – mostly daffodils, tulips, eranthis and anemones so when we started back after St. Patrick’s Day we had a great splash of colour. Some of the annuals that we had planted last year had survived the winter and gave an early display. We now have added Clematis Dark Eyes to the Rosa Zepherine Drouhin which we planted on the wooden arch last year and we added some mature bamboos to the back boundary. The permanent planting is now almost all in place so we have been busy with putting bedding to keep the colour interesting.
